May's Haul

Sorry I'm late with May's haul. I haven't really been keeping track of my polish collection of late, reason being it's getting harder to do so with the ever-expanding polish count. Also, I've been trying to stay off polish to save for something I would treasure more, a new guitar! That being said, I only started my serious low-buy in June so May's haul was a little crazy (as usual).

The first two pictures are of the polishes I got in Korea, while on my graduation trip. The polishes were dirt cheap I tell you and I grabbed so many that my baggage was overweight on the flight back. Thank goodness my friends who didn't shop a lot, so I "ate" into their excess weight limit.

As you can see, I'm really loving the chunky glitter trend right now, especially with all the indie polish trend so I had my chunky glitter fix with the Korean polishes! I'm not gonna name them because in all honestly, they're all alphabets and numbers and it's just too much work.

Next, we have the three Cult Nails polishes I got (Seduction, Captivated and Toxic Seaweed), Floam, as well as a couple of Beadstreet polishes I bought. In the bottom row, I got Jawbreaker and Dream Queen, Catrice Sold Out Forever (a Chanel Jade dupe), Essence Glorious Aquarious, GG 10 to Midnight, Inglot 204 (a blue flakie) and GG Andamooka Blue (a supposed blue flakie but I see random bits of red and green flakes in there too! D:).

Then we have four Essence Colour3 polishes. Three of them were CPs from EuropeI didn't know Singapore was gonna bring them in and sadly, I paid almost double what they cost at Watsons but hey, you win some, you lose some. And I'm still very grateful to my dear Evillee who helped me buy all the gorgeous European polishes on her trip there!

And lastly, I did an epic Ozotic / Picture Polish / A-England haul at ninjapolish. I'm so glad I snapped up all the Ozotic 500 series polish that I wanted because they're now discontinued.

So ther you have it, May's Haul. An epic haul if I might add. I seriously need to cut back on buying polishes! My Helmer is now full and I'm storing all the polishes you see in this post in an empty A4 paper box cover, which incidentally, is almost the same size as a Helmer drawer. I know us polish addicts always say we need to cut down and then we go on no/low buys which always turn out to fail but we'll see.

I'm pretty damn adamant this time and considering it's already 26th June, I've only bought a couple of polishes from a US blog sale because those polishes were quite unique and were going at some exremely reasonable prices! I did pay for my Pretty and Polished pre-orders but I placed those orders a long long time ago so they don't count!!! I also have the Nails Inc Sprinkles and some Nubar duochromes in my beautybay cart, which I'm sure I will check out by the end of the month but it's a considerable improvement already so yay! :)

Ozotic 502, 530 and 531

Today, we have the last of the three part Ozotic same-colour-shift-but-different-effects series, featuring Ozotic 502, 530 and 531.
These three shift from gold to orange and pink spectrum and mainly flash orange and pinkish copper indoors. I really love the pinkish copper the best out of the entire colour shift. I honestly didn't think I'd like these three as much as I do!
This is one coat of 502 and 530 and two coats of 531 over black in all the pictures.

Taking a picture with the flash on seems to bring out the much cooler pink tones in the polish.

If you haven't heard already, Ozotic has announced that they're discontinuing the 500 series and they're having a sale until the end of June or until stocks run out, so if you haven't grabbed your favourite 500 series polishes yet, please do so before it's too late! For girls in Singapore who are interested, you can order your Ozotics from Susan! She's taking in the last batch of orders on 24th June (Sunday) so remember to submit your orders by then!

Ozotic 504, 529 and 534

Today's part two of the three part "special" Ozotic series.
Ozotic 504, 529 and 534's entire colour shift encompasses a gold, orange, pink, purple, indigo and royal blue spectrum. They flash mostly purple to royal blue indoors.
Similar to yesterday's post, this will not be a wordy one. Just pictures of the beautiful polishes ahead! This is one coat of 504 and 534 and two coats of 529 over black in all the pictures.

You can see the warmer tones in these three polish in the picture below.

The flash does bring out the cooler indigo/royal blue tone.

Ozotic 505, 528 and 532

Following yesterday's overview, today's post is all about Ozotic 505, 532 and 528.
These three's colour shift encompasses a gold, orange, pink, purple, aqua/teal and green spectrum and they flash mostly purple to green indoors.
This is one coat of 505 and 532 and two coats of 528 over black in all the pictures.

You cans ee how green they flash in the three pictures below, especially the last one, taken with flash.

Ozotic 500 series

Hey gals, today we have part 4 of the Ozotic 500+ series!
I've acquired quite a few 500+ series of the same colour scheme but different "effects" because I LOVE the crazy multichrome colour shifts in Ozotics and I just wanted to show you the different kind of effects.
I've labelled all the swatches to avoid any confusion! I always get confused when there's too many polishes so I might as well be as clear as possible! :)
Basically, 528, 532 and 505 have the same colour shift, as with 529, 534 and 504, as well as 530,531 and 502. I'll be showing you each of the three sets individually in time to come but for today's post is just an overview of all the colours.
528, 529 and 530 are the Elytras which I've shown you here. They're (slightly larger than usual) glitters in a clear base and I feel they show the most obvious colour shift out of the bunch.
502, 504 and 505 are the straight on, ultra fine and ultra smooth multichromes that just look obscenely gorgeous.
531, 532 and 534 are the holographic ones. They're kind of like 502, 504 and 505 with spectraflair added in the bottle. I've done up a pretty detailed post on them here.
So enough with boring words, here come the pictures! You can click on the pictures to enlarge them and see everything better.

I'll be showing you 528, 532 and 505 in more detail tomorrow! Stay tuned.

Ozotic Elytra + Picture Polish Mask-a-rade

Continuing with the Ozotic series, today I have Ozotic 528, 529 and 530 (from the Elytra series) as well as Picture Polish Mask-a-rade. I've included Mask-a-rade in this post because the glitter effect is exactly the same as the three Elytra polishes. In fact, many people have concluded that Mask-a-rade is just a combination of the three Elytras in a bottle! I'll show you how they compare a little later on.

Here's a bottle shot of the four stars for today's post: Ozotic 528, 529, 530 and Picture Polish Mask-a-rade.

From left to right, we have two (thicker) coats of 528, 529, 530 and Mask-a-rade over a black base, taken under direct sunlight.

The next two pictures were taken indoors, in indirect sunlight. Here we have the same polishes in reverse order from left to right. 528 (index finger) is supposed to have the same colour shift as 505 and 532 but I think 528 does tend to flash more green, compared to the other 2 Ozotics. You can see how green it flashes in the picture below.

Here you can see the warmer tones of the three polishes' colour shift. 528 and 529 are displaying their purple sides while 530 is showing its orange rage!

The rest of the pictures were taken under my table lamp. Again, you can see how green 528 goes, while 529 shows off its indigo and royal blue facade. 530 is mostly a pinkish copper indoors.

Now, this is the four polishes at their warmest. 528 is flashing copper, fuschia and bright purple, 529 flashing amber, pink and indigo, 530 flashing gold and amber, and lastly Mask-a-rade flashing amber, purple and a touch of teal. You can click on the picture to enlarge it to see everything better!

Moving on to extreme close ups, this is 528 and its entire colour shift encompasses a gold, orange, pink, purple, aqua/teal and green spectrum. It has a similar colour shift as Ozotic 505 and 532, as mentioned earlier. It flashes mostly purple to green indoors.

This one is 529 and its entire colour shift encompasses a gold, orange, pink, purple, indigo and royal blue spectrum. It flashes mostly purple to royal blue indoors and has a similar colour shift as Ozotic 504 and 534.

This next one is 530 and its entire colour shift encompasses a gold, orange and pink spectrum. It mainly flashes orange and pinkish copper indoors and has a similar colour shift as Ozotic 502 and 531.

Last but now least, we have Mask-a-rade and this one is like a party your nail! It really is like all three Elytras combined so you get a crazy complex colour shift going on.

In fact, to show you how close Mask-a-rade is to the three Elytras combined, what I have here is a comparison. I painted all three Elytras over black (one coat each of 528, 529 and finally 530 to top everything off) and then I painted three coats of Mask-a-rade over black.

From what I can tell, the difference between the two is extremely minute. The Elytras combo does flash more orange while Mask-a-rade does flash more green so it's only a matter of cutting down 530 and adding more 528 to the mixture. I also noticed that Mas-a-rade is a tiny bit denser than the Elytras but seriously, no regular person walking down the street would be able to tell the difference. Honestly.

Well, I guess we've come to the end of today's post and I'm gonna leave you with some lyrics from Masquarade (off the Phantomof the Opera soundtrack) because the song has been looping in my head the moment I painted on the first coat of Mask-a-rade. See you soon!

Masquerade!
Paper faces on parade.
Masquerade!
Hide your face, so the world will never find you!
Masquerade!
Every face a different shade.
Masquerade!
Look around -
there's another
mask behind you!
