I was quite undecided whether to get the Mish Mash series from Ozotic at first, because it seemed like I could just paint a layer of SF top coat or a sheer holographic polish like Glitter Gal Silver or Ozotic 509 over the multichromatic Ozotics (502, 504, 505 and 506), to achieve the same holographic + colour shifting effect as the Mish Mash series. You can see a comparison between the Mish Mash polishes, painting a SF top coat over them and adding SF into 502, 504, 505 and 506 in this post by More Nail polish.
I eventually caved and ordered my Mish Mash polishes from Susan since Ozotic announced that they were discontinuing the 500+ series and I just wanted to grab them before I no longer have the chance to! I didn't grab 533 as it seemed to close to 532 and 534. It's like a shade that's in between those other two and in the spirit of saving money, I decided to grab the three that looked the most different from each other.
For all the pictures below, I painted two coats of the Ozotics over a coat of black polish.
First to show you how holo these babies are, the first three were taken indoors, under artificial lighting. I've labelled all my pictures for easier referencing. I hate it when polish companies "name" their polish by numbers. It's so much harder to remember and differentiate which polish is which!
Took a blurry shot just to show you how crazy the holo effect is!
These next two was taken in sunlight. I think it's very interesting how much more holo the polishes are indoors.
These next few shots should show you the colour shift in each of these polish. Technically, 531 is the holo version of 502, 532 the holo version of 505 and 534 the holo version of 504, so the colour shift in the Mish Mash series will be the same as the 502-504 multichromatic series.
You can see that even though 532 and 534 are a bit similar, 532 is much cooler compared to 534.
532 also shifts to turquoise and green, as shown below, but 534 stops shifting at royal blue.
This picture below shows the dominant colour in each polish pretty well. 501 is predominantly brown, 532 is turquoise/teal and 534 is indigo.
You can see a little green tinge in 531 in the picture below that only shines through at more extreme angles.
So in summary, 531 is a holographic but it also shifts from green (at extreme angles, shown above) to gold, copper, pinkish red and lastly to brown. Here's a close up shot to show most of the colour shift. 531 flashes predominantly brown though, so it kind of reminds me of the brown holographic version of OPI My Private Jet but on colour shifting steroids!
532 flashes from purple, to indigo, a bright turqoise/teal and even a bright green at some angles.
And lastly, we have 534, that is warmer than 532. 534 shifts from copper to pink, purple indogo and lastly a royal blue, on top of its crazy holographic bling.
So which is your favourite Mish Mash? Did you get all four of them or are you planning to paint a holographic polish over 502, 504, 505 and 506 to get a similar effect?
For girls who are interesting in getting these Mish Mash polishes, Susan is still collecting orders for Ozotics until the end of June or until Ozotic runs out of stock so grab your bottle now at S$18 before it's too late!
By the way, if you're interested in immortalising the amazing Ozotic Mish Mash series into a ring, head on down to Posh Polish! If you click on the link, you can actually see the colour shift of the polishes much better too, because the glass cabochons on the rings tends to magnify the colour shifting magic!
