Another (Relatively) Good Girl Haul

I got HARE Polish Star Tropics and Leap Light Year, as well as Polish Revolution Eleganza from Shoppe Ecleticco (now Rainbow Connection). I must tell you, I got the news about the HARE Polish launch during lunch and let me just say that carting out nail polish while trying to maintain a lunch conversation with your colleagues isn't as easy as you think!

I was a really good girl in August and September and I didn't buy any polish at all. This is probably my longest no buy ever. It may have been my polish mojo disappearing, coupled with work taking over my life. It all ended just last week when Mei Mei's Signatures launched the new Glam Polish Fun and Games Collections. I just had to get Twister and along the way, I added a couple of beauties into my cart and then this happened!

As you can see from the bottom row, I'm currently in a neon phase. Yes, I'm so epically late to the party but I don't think the phase will continue. I think I have enough neon babies for the mo'.

Hopefully my good girl pattern will continue on! Have a great weekend!

A Good Girl Haul

Hello there! I've been trying to document my hauls here to keep track of my purchases and normally I'd feel so guilty but I feel like such a good girl this time round. :) I bought 10 bottles in May and only 2 in July. TWO. AHHHHHH, I feel like an addict kicking her dirty habbit, except I'm not sure if I want to kick this polish addiction!

Starting off with a bang, I bought a tin of Burt's Bees Lemon BUtter Cuticle Cream. To clarify, I did not break up with Lush Lemony Flutter. I just wanted to try something new. I do love the citrus scent of Burt's Bee. Somehow my Lemony Flutter has changed its smell and it's extremely soft and not flakey like those I've been on other blogs. I think it's because of how hot and humid Singapore is. Which is why I love how refreshing Burt's Bees was! The smell was sharp (I LOVE citrusy scents so this one is a big plus for me) and it wasn't too oily. I'm now alternating between the two, using Lush when my cuticles need that extra love.

I couldn't resist the charm of the Essie Resort collection. Can you blame me?  The formula was great and the colour payoff was amazing!

These next four were my recent purchases from Mei Mei's Signatures. It's pretty obvious I'm on a purple trajectory huh? This is Girly Bits Twitterpated, Black Cat Lacquer Tetris (a square shaped multicoloured glitter topper which I am in love with), Happy Hands Lady Goodman and The Worst is Over.

Meimei was also kind enough to send me a couple of polishes to review and I really enjoyed them! You can read the review here. I really liked how I wouldn't ordinarily buy these shades but they turned out pretty dope.

This is Scofflaw Cuckoo Cloud Land (a phrase from Radiohead's Like Spinning Plates) and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot which I purchased form Shoppe Eclecticco. I absolutely love these two, not just for their names but for their beauty as well!

I also got Emily de Molly Land of Confusion and Oceanic Forces, Femme Fatale Cosmetics Nightsong Grotto and Cloudburst from Shoppe Eclecticco. Couldn't resist these four beauties either and these Australian indies always sell like hotcakes on Annette's shop so I had to ninja them before I regretted not getting them!

Well, that's the end of this humble haul post. I'm pretty happy to be over a month "clean" now, because it not only means more money in the bank but also more swatches to come. I'm trying to slowly swatch my way through my indie collection and hopefully this low buy will continue on so I can get through the stash faster!

Till next time!

Teal Indie Spam

Teal has always been one of my favourite polish colours. It was the colour that led me into this spiralling addiction so naturally when the indie trend came along, I couldn't resist snapping up all these teal beauties.

Here they are with their names.

Forgive me as I forgot to include Scofflaw Whiskey Tango Foxtrot in the group shot so it got its own individual shot.

Now for their close up shots! Before we proceed, I just want to lt you know that when I first started swatching my indies on swatch sticks, I initially painted the polish on the top side but after some rather unpleasant experience with the polish drying matte, I have now switched to painting the polish on the under side so if you see some of the close ups being grittier than the others, please don't freak out. I have marked the ones painted on the top side with a star behind its name so you'll know.

This first one is Scofflaw Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Do you see it? HAHA, I absolutely LOVE the name. I like that it has a combination of both sqare and hex glitters.

This next one is Hare Polish Bisbee. I first came across Hare Polish on tumblr, and I loved her creations from the get go. My bottle of Bisbee does have some tiny problems of taco glitter, perhaps due to the size of the large hexes, even though it's gone through the new formulation. Even so, I'm still very much in love with this baby.

This is Femme Fatale Consmetics Winter Hyacinth*. I have previously swatched Winter Hyacinth in a #SGSwatchFest post and there is no denying my feelings for this one. The white diamonds were such a breath of fresh air in a sea of indie glitters.

Alanna Renee Tranquil is everything its name suggests. It makes me feel so peaceful. Perhaps it's the colour combination of non colour-clashing glitters, nothing hugely contrasting. It's all just a picture of calm.

Similar to Tranqui, Emily de Molly Serenity also paints a picture of calm and peacefulness. This one is a little bit more lively with the copper glitters but still just as pretty.

Emily de Molly A Certain Shade of Green is amazing. It's very much a jelly with pale green, lilac and silver hexes. I like that the glitter isn't too dense, which give the polish a more minimalistic look.

Emily de Molly The Fifth Element* was one of the first few EdMs that first caught my eye. The red glitter makes this polish stand out. The only thing I would change about this polish would be to make it more jelly so the other glitters can shine through more.

This last one is Emily de Molly Majestic Flight*. The colour scheme reminds me of a peacock so the choice of name is seemingly apt. It's the darkest of the bunch but is still a beauty, no less.

I think I can probably do a pastel purple indie spam post soon too, looking at how I've been so inclined towards them. Till next time!

#SGSwatchFest: Mothers' Day with Femme Fatale Cosmetics Crimson Acolyte

Hey lovelies! Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mothers out there!

Just on a side note, I was thinking how to decorate my Mum's card this year and because I haven't done any sort of art and craft in recent years with the exception of nail art, look what I "resorted" to...

Nail polish roses!

Back to the polish, today I have a beauty to show you!

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Crimson Acolyte is a reference to World of Warcraft! It's a cranberry jelly polish filled with pink and red glitters of all kinds - hex, bar, holo.

Here I'm wearing three coats of Crimson Acolyte on my middle and pinkie, one coat of Crimson Acolyte over OPI Siberian Nights on my index and one coat of Crimson Acolyte over OPI Miama Beet on my ring finger.

Application wise, Crimson Acolyte was a pretty fuss-free polish and dry time was not bad. I also like how the base colour is pretty see through so it provides for tons of layering options!

Here are some close up shots. This is Crimson Acolyte by itself. It's squishy as hell (in a good way, of course)!

This is Crimson Acolyte over OPI Miami Beet. Miami Beet is the perfect base colour for Crimson Acolyte if you want a matchy-matchy look.

Finally, this is Crimson Acolyte over OPI Siberian Nights. I love this one the best actually. Siberian Nights is dark enough but it's not the predictable black base. LOVE IT!

Definitely a recommended polish!

Four Month's Worth of Hauls

My nails and cuticles are in no shape to meet anyone so I'm going to share my recent hauls with you while I try to get them back in order. This seems pretty little for four months but that's what happen when work takes over! :(

As always, I'm starting with the indies. Every time I think I've gotten enough, more just seem to spring out and I can never resist them!

Loving the KBShimmer Spring polishes I got! I swatched them here. As for Bank Geek and Bejeweled, they will have to wait!

This next brand is becoming one of my favourite indie brands. I started taking notice of Hare Polish on tumblr quite a while back and I fell in love with the first few olours ever made - A Positive and Bisbee and I am so glad the brand is more accessible now! I'm still eyeing a couple of the older shades like Archipalego and Tropic of Cancer so I'm sitting tight and hoping they get re-released!

Now for the Australian indies...I swear everytime I see new pictures of the new creations made, my heart flutters and my wallet cries.

HOLO HOLO HOLO! Thee new holo shades from Emily de Molly are stunning!

These are the last of my Lynnderella haul (for now). I've got to start saving for my next haul because damn, they're expensive.

Moving on to the more mainstream brands, I got a friend to CP Lady Sings The Blues for me from BeautyAsia and I bought Ray of Light from the lovely Annette of Shoppe Eclecticco when she did some unearthing and found a spare bottle in her stash.

Here are the China Glazes I purchase recently. Ever since the indie craze, I haven't really bought much mainstream brands but these few still managed to capture my attention. I also got the three Zoyas from BeautyAsia.

Yes yes, I hauled the entires China Glaze Hologlam collection. I had to. I am a holo hoarder so this was such a no brainer. Swatches of the collection as well as comparisons can be found here and here.

I also couldn't resist the Color Club Halo Hues 2013. Seeing how amazing the 2012 ones were, I had to get the six new shades to complete the Halo Hues family!

That's it for my haul! I guess working does not have its perks for my wallet! :)

#SGSwatchFest: Femme Fatale Cosmetics Winter Hyacinth

Happy mid-week you guys! Can't believe it's already Wednesday. How time flies when you're busy!

A couple of gals decided that we'd post swatches of Femme Fatale Winter Hyacinth together today so here's my contribution!

Winter Hyacinth was the very first shade from Femme Fatale Cosmetics that caught my eye and when Shoppe Eclecticco announced they were bringing the brand in, I camped in front of my computer and made sure I managed to ninja a bottle for myself!

Here I'm wearing two coats of Winter Hyacinth over Elianto Turquiose on my index, middle and pinkie, and 3 (thicker) coats of Winter Hyacinth by itself on my ring finger.

Winter Hyacinth is a BEAUTIFUL turquoise jelly with fuchsia hex and circular glitters. Some of the hex glitters are also holographic! To add on to that, there are also white hex and diamond glitters. These white glitters are sparser and a tiny bit harder to get on the nails so some fishing and dabbing might be required.

I didn't want to use any more of Winter Hyacinth than required for today's swatches but I do like it much better by itself than layered so the next time I wear this baby, I'm gonna wear it full on Winter Hyacinth!

Yes, I am aware that the pictures are starting to look very alike but I assure they are different. Winter Hyacinth was so gorgeous I couldn't resist taking more shots!

GAHHHH, she's such a beauty!

Here's a close up of Winter Hyacinth layered over a turquoise base polish.

And here's a close up of Winter Hyacinth by itself.

Shoppe Eclecticco recently restocked Femme Fatale Cosmetics on their site and Winter Hyacinth is already Out of stock but you can keep track of restocks on their facebook page so if you haven't gotten you bottle yet, you know what to do! Alternatively, you can also get your bottle from Llarowe during their next restock!

Till next time!
